Are Alien Races Supposed to be Balanced? Hey everybody! I'm just about to start playing in a new Traveller (Mongoose 2nd Edition) campaign and thought playing a Vargr sounded like a fun character starting point. I looked into the mechanics for playing non-human races in the core rulebook and was a little surprised at what I found. The Vargr are a Canidoid Major Race, with a humanoid body plan, derived from Ancient genetic manipulation of Terran carnivore/chaser stock, apparently dating from approximately the same time that Humaniti was scattered to the stars.
